Handicap Access Bathroom Remodel
This Rosenberg client needed handicap access to a bathroom for a family member who recently suffered a stroke and needed to move into their home for financial and logistical reasons. The remodel also needed to add future value. A water heater placed just outside the existing bathroom first needed to be moved over, but not block access to the backdoor. Space was a challenge, but redirecting the heater's flue pipe at a 45° angle up through the ceiling made it possible. The new wall with the entrance door was constructed at an angle to give the handicap walk-in shower the largest size possible. A bench seat and soap niche were built into the tiled shower. Time was of the essence as this stroke victim was to be released from rehab in short order.
